Australia facing England in the final of Carlton Mid-ODI Tri-series, at Perth in their home soil opted to bat first. Australia top order could not put up a good show on the day but when Glenn Maxwell 95 came into bat he alongwith Marsh 60 put up a wonderful show with the quick 50 off 24 balls by Faulkner in the lower batting order. With late effort of the Australian batsmen they put up a target of 279 from 50 overs on the scoreboard. Here is the glimpse of stats and picture of Glenn Maxwell.

On the other hand when England came into bat they showed poor performance with the bat playing blind,poor shot selection on the day when the needed the most. Bopara scoring 33 highest from his side rest none of the player could not perform upto the standards.Thus bowled out at 166 with almost 11 overs to spare in the innings.
So it was all Maxwell show with the bat, with the bowl with a mixture of splended efforts in the fielding as well taking 2 catches.He is declared as the man of the match award. Such a brilliant performance just before world cup is a great morale boaster to the side from star player. With such performances he can appear as one of the dangerous players of the tournament.
