African Cup of Nations

On 17^th Jan 2015, Equatorial Guinea hosted the 30^th African Cup of Nations also known as The Orange Africa Cup of Nation Equatorial Guinea 2015. 16 Nations were qualified for the African Cup of Nations. The 4 teams qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament are Ivory Coast, Ghana, Equatorial Guinea and D.R. Congo. First semi-final is on 5^th Feb between D.R. Congo and Ivory Coast meanwhile, second semi-final will be played on 5^th Feb between Ghana and Equatorial Guinea the host of the tournament. Currently the top goal scorers are Akaichi A., Bilboa J.,Theiry Bifouma having 3 goals each. The final will be played 8^th Feb, while the 3^rd position match will be played on 7^th Feb.

Until now, the tournament hasn’t been too much fair. It is widely criticized all over the world. A lot of unfair decisions have made this one of the most unfair tournament in the history of football. Ivory Coast and Ghana are one of the best teams of Africa and both have more chances of progressing to the final then their respective opponents. Ghana’s Christian Atsu’s in the quarter final is currently the best goal of the tournament. If we take a look on the squads of all the 4 semi-finalists, Ivory Coast has the best squad followed by Ghana. Yaya Toure, Kolo Toure, Didier Drogba, Wilried Bony, Gervinho, Doumbia are all experienced players and play for the top teams in leagues. While Mikel Essian, Asomaoh Gyan, Atsu are the main players of Ghana.
